Weaving Colour

The first Monday in September : summer holidays are officially over and a new social season is ushered in with a crowded agenda! If you have still some blank pages, then Design September Brussels will help you fill the gaps. Out of the 80 events around the city, the I Love Belgium team highlights "Colour./Kleur.".

Why? As the Belgian norm for September weather equals grey sky, designshop La Fabrika and creative platform De Invasie cooperate to create an exploding colour bomb. Four creatives create a world of explosive colour in the lively Dansaert district of central Brussels.

One of those designers is textile designer Ilse Acke. Her woven scarf's incorporate vibrant colours mixed with strong graphic elements. Her pieces can be described as colourful, soft, and sometimes unpredictable, but most of all unique. On her inspiring blogspot you can follow the process from thread to fabric. Her latest post? Lively CMYK weavings turned into cushion covers. Have a look and fall in love!
