Sleeping out of the box

Ghent is an anomaly: on the surface it could easily be Bruges, all fairy-lit canals, gilded guildhouses and jingle-jangle carillon concerts. And very lovely too. But underneath, all is dynamic, youthful and design minded. One of those places is Sleeping out of the box. The non-profit platform, located in the middle of the old city centre, introduces young Belgian designers in the real-life context of a guest house.

On the first floor you'll find The Studio: a calm white oasis which is the neutral backdrop for a designer. Every 3 months a young creative is invited to show his work. This time it's James Van Vossel displaying his works under the label JAMES.

On the top floor you have The Flat. This duplex is curated by Maison Caro. Her poetic world is complemented with young creative such as Linde Hermans, studio david graas, SNURK, Fou de Feu, Azura and many more…

This guesthouse fully embraces the idea of a total-concept. You can  ‘get married’  for one minute with an ice ring and drink your coffee with a sugar spoon (each breakfast is redesigned by the current designer). As this guesthouse has economic friendly prices mixed with a great concept, the I Love Belgium team is in full support mode!
