Pieter's Gradients

You certainly know a Dutch painter with the name of Vermeer, renowned for his masterly treatment and use of light in his work. But do you know the Belgian artist Pieter Vermeersch? It's not only the last names that resemble, but it's also the masterly use of light and color that pushes both painters into the section of great artistes.

No domestic scenes for Pieter, instead an abstract use of colours. You, just like the I Love Belgium-team, may think of gradients. And you may even make the reflection: what's so special about that? Well, it's the fact that Pieter paints these! Yes, he must finish his pieces in single uninterrupted sittings lasting up to twelve hours so that they may dry perfectly evenly. He plans every facet of the process in advance in order to execute at the necessary breakneck speed.

But the result is stunning: art which plays with your mind. His works redefine perspectives, spaces and light. And if you now think of adding one of his works on hi walls: it is possible! Here you can see the result of his gallerists's home. Just keep in mind that you'll need to provide Pieter with a certain budget.
