Le Fabuleux Marcel flagshipstore by B-ILD Architects

Love Belgium announced it a few weeks ago as a new B-ILD Architects project and now it’s actually a fact: Le Fabuleux Marcel de Bruxelles’ first flagshipstore. The young team behind B-ILD Architects created a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere, fitting with the relaxed image of the brand. This was incorporated in the design by creating a foyer in the first part of the shop where people can sit in comfortable sofas, leafing through a magazine. This salon is visible from the street attracting passers-by and making shoppers an integral part of the store window.
A clear distinction is deliberately created between the fixed and loose furniture. The former is suspended from the ceiling and is executed in white steel. The latter is a collection of vintage furniture linked to the vintage feel of the brand.
The space in the back will be used as office and showroom and is separated from the shop by a wall composed of a double metal mesh and an acoustical curtain. This gives the possiblity to adapt the transparency according to the specific function taking place.
Official opening: Thursday 3th of June 2010.
