Cardboard Photography

How do you create highly stylized photographs with cinematographic qualities without spending loads of money on settings? Well, ask collective 354 Photographers created by Kevin Laloux and Maxime Delvaux. They've built theirs sets out of cardboard and off-the-rack miniature furniture.

Although the pictures may have the look and feel of staged photography, nothing is like it seems to be! Have a closer look and you'll discover disproportioned elements, bizarre textures and an incredible eye for details! These settings, which display strange, urban and darkly humorous images, could easily be an still taken from any underground dark indie movie. The I Love Belgium team is already imagining the plot!

Aside from their own personal work, like the Box series, 354 photographers work respectively in the advertising and the architecture photography sectors. Kevin and Maxime decided to start working together in 2009. Since there, they worked for several clients such as Fiat, The belgian post, the univerity of Ghent, Belgian television, Samsonite,.. and many I Love Belgium's favourite architecture offices such as Lhoas & Lhoas, V+, Baukunst,...
